New Orleans
We just got back from a week in New Orleans! Andrew's sister is a writer there and was getting married. Our trip was just short of a week but we did a whole lot and had the little girls with us. New Orleans is a totally different place with kids. We spent all our time in the Garden District or Faubourg Marigny so we didn't see too much of the post Katrina mess -- There were still no streetcars though, and the 5 days I spent not being able to recycle anything drove me nuts (they are lucky to have trash removal). I had to stop myself from filling my suitcase with all our used plastic bottles to recycle when we got home. I never realized that I was such an OCD environmentalist.
I love being in San Francisco, but I wish we lived closer to all the family, they are so much fun. The wedding was lovely and took place under a beautiful old Oak tree in Audubon Park. Evie was a flower girl. I made her dress and it was huge! I didn't have time to take it in either. The dressmaker's kid had ill fitting clothes. Nice.

Bunny tea party in transit.
The girls were on their best behavior on the plane and during all 8 HOURS of travel (because you can't get a direct flight from San Francisco, Oakland or even San Jose to NOLA) I was totally amazed at how good they were on all 4 flights. I never even had to break out the meltdown emergency lollipops or surprise Angelina Ballerina presents.

Disgruntled flowergirl Evie. I think she was tired of all the photographs. Or mad that her dress was huge.

Evie thought "Pirates Alley" was a great name. We posed. I'm a blonde now too. Blonde Pirate. Arrr.

My old house at Valmont and Magazine where I lived in 1993. Its looking a lot less ghetto since the last time I visited it. I cant believe its been 15 years since I lived there! AGH!
