Lazy Housewifery
I just love being a lazy housewife. Granted I have too many hobbies so I'm only moderately lazy. But right now I am sitting on a lounge chair in the middle of our yard reading Jane Eyre while the girls play in the kiddie pool on a perfect and sunny 75 degree day. All that feminism and college education, and this is what I do all day. And I'm drinking a beer too. Cheap beer. In a can. Because I'm nothing if not overeducated, liberated AND classy.
We watched two documentaries last night: The Beales of Grey Gardens and Guerrilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst . The Beales was all great outtakes and extra footage from Grey Gardens and was like visiting old friends. Very loopy old friends. Lots of singing and dancing by Little Edie, and a fashion montage of her outrageous outfits. Nobody looks as good in taupe pantyhose as she does. Except maybe Amy Sedaris.
We were supposed to take the Airstream out this weekend to a vintage trailer rally in Coloma but Evie came down with a bug. Its ok, because I have lots more dressmaking to do for Bazaar Bizarre.
Check this out: http://www.loveintheageoffishsticks.com. It is my silkscreening partner Yun's movie and he's taking it to Cannes in a few weeks. I was originally asked to make a giant fishstick costume for it but he ended up not needing it. I was both relieved that I did not have to make a giant fishstick costume and, well, disappointed that I did not have to make a giant fishstick costume.

Your day sounds wonderfully idyllic. I can't think of anything more glorious.
I'm sorry to hear that the Trailer Rally got derailed, but it sounds like you have carved out a nice little peace of paradise today in spite of the bug.
Yun's movie looks great. Do you know if they have plans to show it locally?

I love Amy Sedaris.
That's all for now.
