Vintage Trailer Rally
We took the Land Yacht up to the Russian River this weekend for a vintage trailer rally

Our neighbors, including a super shiny polished 1968 Safari

Here's ours, with our astro-turf rug and new vintage style candy striped awning. And children and dogs and their various accessories...

I found this 1960's Drip-O-Lator steel coffeepot for 5 bucks at the swap meet. It works great!

Sprout and I had matching leopard outfits and Evie wore a 1950's pink atomic print sundress (for sale on Tartlette)

Vintage Trailer Rally & Show in Alameda
Sunday, September 17th at 9 am on the former Alameda Naval Air Station. The rally will be held at the end of the tarmac on Taxi Way H, overlooking the bay with a breathtaking view of the S.F. skyline.
We are inviting all vintage trailers and vintage trailer enthusiasts to come on down and enjoy a day of some of the most rare and beautiful vintage trailers from years gone by. Here you will get to see both the exteriors and interiors
of some of the most unique vintage travel trailers ever built! You will see everything from Westcrafts, Spartans, Airstreams, Airfloats, Shastas to home and shop built masterpieces from the 1920’s through the 1960’s.
We also will be having an automotive and motorcycle swap meet happening in conjunction with the trailer rally that day. Our idea for the show on Sunday is to promote the interest in vintage trailers and in vintage trailer restoration and also to annual event here in the Bay Area dedicated to the Preservation and general interest these traveling masterpieces of American ingenuity and history.

Maiden Voyage of the Land Yacht

We went on our very first trip with the Airstream this past weekend to Gualala River Park on the Sonoma Coast. Andrew's sister Sarah was visiting us from Asheville NC and we wanted to do something fun while she was here. It was great! Our site was in a grove of big redwoods and was very cool and shady. There was a beach a short walk away and we swam in the warm Gualala river. We even had lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean about a mile away. Evie had a great time. The Sprout did really well too! And Ping actually SWAM. A swimming pug is the cutest thing ever, I wish I had a video of it.

More Safari Pics
We got the title on Saturday! Its still parked at the sellers house because the hitch guy didnt finish our car on time. But we are picking it up next week. Here's a buch of photos of the inside:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Evie is having quiet time in her room and singing "owie waaaash.... owie waaaash... its de owie wash song!" (Owie wash is the pain killing first aid antiseptic I use when we get scraped knees). Oh, ok now she's singing "coffee grounds, coffee grounds, coffee grounds, doo de doo". She's singing a lot lately. Its totally adorable.
Evie also has imaginary friends called "Wowshes" now. She tells me they look like bunnies and are named Parsley, Mowzy, Wowzy and Peter Rabbit. Her secret wowsh name is Parsley.
The other day when Andrew was walking up the stairs she yelled after him "Be careful on those stairs dude, dey are kinda twicky. DUDE! BE CAREFUL!"
The Sprout is cute and happy. Hates being on her belly still, no teeth yet but sits up really well and is just totally happy and smiling 96% of the time. The other 4% is when she randomly screams her head off, but it hasnt happened in a while. Our sitter had to leave us to take care of her elderly mom so I am really glad the baby is in such good spirits or I'd be nuts.

Trailer Trash!
Say hello to our new baby! Its a vintage 1969 Airstream Safari travel trailer! 23' long, sleeps 2 adults and two wee ones, has a galley with oven, stove, double stainless sink, wood paneled fridge, full bathroom with a tub, air conditioning, central heat, and beautiful light wood paneling and all original fixtures. And everything works! We pick it up next weekend once we get the hitch and stuff installed on the Jeep. I am so HAPPY! Its the Airstream of our dreams! I cant wait to kitsch it up even more. Mobile tiki bar!
[I cant believe I posted that photo of myself. Disclaimer: I had a baby 6 months ago ]
